Overview
Government Canyon State Natural Area is a 12,000-acre natural area located west of San Antonio, preserving a rugged stretch of the Texas Hill Country. The natural area features over 40 miles of hiking and biking trails that wind through limestone canyons, juniper and oak woodlands, and native grasslands. One of its most unique features is a set of dinosaur tracks left by ancient reptiles in the limestone. The park is managed by Texas Parks and Wildlife and offers a true wilderness experience.
